Toyota Land Cruiser vs Toyota Hilux

The Toyota Hilux 2.4 DC 4×4 is a very versatile and comfortable 4wd vehicle with good off-road capabilities and Bushlore offer a very practical camping system. It is the most economical option for a good enough 4wd to tackle Southern Africa. They have travelled to almost everywhere.
The Toyota Land Cruiser 4.2d 4×4 is however the strongest passenger vehicle 4×4 ever built and it offers a higher level 4wd capabilities as well as excellent safety and reliability. These are very important criteria when travelling to remote areas. In addition, it is one of the few cars left on the market which does not have complex electronics and this is a huge plus when travelling the Botswana Okavango Delta area and anywhere where you have to cross water. It is also ideal for very remote areas where a simple electronic issue can become a major inconvenience.
The Toyota Land Cruiser is highly recommended for the Botswana Delta area, southern central Kalahari and northern Namibia Kaokoland. The Land Cruiser is far better for rocky roads and very bad roads due to the very rugged, strong chassis and suspension components. The further north you travel in Africa the better suited the Land Cruiser.
So the answer is really where you plan on going on really bad roads, very remote areas or where you can expect water crossings the Land Cruiser is highly recommended.
